Wilkins founded and directed for 13 years (2001 – 2014) EDGEWORKS Dance Theater, an all-male company of predominately African American men – the first of its kind in Washington DC. Through the mission and work of EDT dance became a vehicle to break down stereotypes about men, specifically from African-American perspectives, and to create projects that blur the lines between art and social justice. This page is designed to be an archival resource that sheds light on this dynamic chapter of Wilkins's journey.
